Last week, Bess Naujoks and JoAnn Ingels from our Mission Ministries bagged your donations for the Ecumenical Community Center and Lynda Nelson and I delivered the vanload along with $275 from the Noisy Offering. Your generosity will make a difference in the lives of those who have so little.
Five Cedar Rapids Presbyterian congregations celebrated Maundy Thursday communion service together at Olivet Presbyterian Church on April 2nd. The combined choir and participation of the congregations made a wonderful opportunity to join in worship.
Easter Sunday is always special in so many ways. Thank you to everyone who helped decorate, to those who brought food for the breakfast, and to those who stayed later to help put things in order again. We are always glad when you invite visitors, and I hope you will do that often.
This coming Sunday, April 12th, our 9:00 am study hour continues with the Andy Stanley study called “Twisted Truth.” These lessons help us to be aware of the reality we are being sold and who is behind trying to keep God’s people confused and distrusting each other. I hope you will join us for a cup of coffee and an interesting discussion. Do you have a good idea about a particular study you’d like us to consider? Please let me know.
The 10:00 am worship service will center on the Scripture John 20:19-31. What happens after Easter? The hymns will be “Praise Ye The Lord, The Almighty,” “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross,” and “Christ the Lord is Risen Today!”
Please remember if you want to contribute to the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering, April 12 will be the final Sunday before we send the collected total to that office.
Sunday is going to be a wonderful day to worship God. I hope you can be there to share in the blessings. Invite a friend.
Remember Ch_rch isn’t the same without “U.”
