Wednesday Word – April 22, 2026

In Faith Presbyterian Church news, a special thanks to everyone who went to 1st Presbyterian Church last Sunday evening to help with serving the Sunday Evening Meal Program.

Our Presbytery is sponsoring a Congregational Vitality Workshop at 10:00 am at the Amana Hotel and will be attended by several from our congregation.

The 9:00 am Sunday morning study hour will be a new video series by Max Lucado. Come have a cup of coffee and enjoy our discussion.

Our 10:00 am worship service will include hymns “Morning Has Broken,” “The Lord’s My Shepherd,” and “Savior Like A Shepherd Lead Us.”

Our annual Mission Sale will be June 11 at 3:00 pm through June 13th at noon. New this year will be a Saturday morning time to shop. Proceeds from the sale will be divided between two Cedar Rapids missions: Hope Community Development Assoc. and Patriots Recovery Residences (you will learn about this organization during the May 17 Minute for Mission).

As you prepare your sale items, remember these tips:

1.    You may bring your items starting on May 1 during office hours.

2.    Place your items in Room #2.

3.    Make sure your items are clean, nice as new, and ready to sell.

4.    If you donate puzzles, please rubber band or tape the box edges or place the pieces in a zip-locked bag in the box so the pieces do not get separated.

5.    Do not donate clothing. There are many non-profits that can benefit from your used clothes.

Tell your family and friends about our Mission sale. We need customers!

Volunteers will start setting up for the sale on Monday, June 8, at 9:00 am.

Sunday is going to be a wonderful day to worship God. I am looking forward to seeing you then. It will be a great day to invite a friend.

Remember: Ch_rch isn’t the same without “U”.

Yours in Christ,

The Rev. Dr. Dennis E. Morey
