The residents of Uganda are plagued with jiggers. These jiggers burrow into their feet and cause severe pain. Children are not able to walk to school. But you can help! From old blue jeans, we will cut the parts of shoes. The residents earn employment putting the shoes together. The organization Sole Hope removes the jiggers and educates the children on how to prevent further jiggers.
1. Please join us on Saturday May 9 at 9:00 am to cut children’s shoes. Bring a sharp scissors to cut the jeans. Feel free to invite your family and friends. The Sewing Group will also be meeting at this time, so you can see what this group does too.
2. Another way to support the Sole Hope project is to donate $35 for a pair of shoes. On the memo line of your check, write Sole Hope.
3. If you can’t make it on May 9 and would like to cut the shoes at home, see Lynda Nelson or Tracy Barton for a take-home kit. – Missions Ministry Team
